Born and raised in Tokyo in a family with an artistic background, Saera started taking pictures from the age of eight.She started her career as a landscape photographer, selling her works through her website and a stock photo agent.

In 1999, Saera moved to London and enrolled for a course in fashion photography at the University of the Arts London (London College of Communication) . While managing her college assignments, she established a portrait photography business for London-based actors , singers and dancers in West End musicals. She also worked as a photographer with with new models from top modelling agencies, such as Storm, Select and Models One.

Since then, she is based in both Tokyo and London and has been working in a valaety of fields such as photojournalism, fashion photography and publishing art books.

In 2004, she started workinng as a Photo Journalist with clients from top fashion magazines in Asia, such as Marie Claire (Hong Kong and Taiwan), Cosmopolitan (Hong Kong) and Vogue (Taiwn).She reports the latest news about fashion stores, restaurants, spas, clubs and hotels.Futhermore, as a photographer, she has worked with high profile clients such as the Japanese SNS Mixi and Dazed and Confused (Japan).

From 2005 to 2009, Saera was involved in the coordination of a personal project involving the well-known rock music photographer Kevin Westenberg, who is famous for shooting the album covers of U2, Mary J Blige, and Coldplay. The Tokyo Photo Project (working title) focuses on modern Japanese culture and celebrities, spotlighting Japanese performance artists, Japanese actors who work in Hollywood, and Japanese rock stars. The images of these artists are captured using 4 x 5 large format cameras. Saera was coordinating the entire process—from identifying interesting subjects to preparing for the shoot and also working as a translator. Currently, plans are underway to publish and exhibit this ongoing project.

In 2009, Saera entered into a partnership with Small Axes Inc., and continues to work with international photographers, introducing them to the Japanese scene to enable them to collaborate with top Japanese fashion brands such as BEAMS (50 billion yen in annual sales) and United Allows (30 billion yen in annual sales).Now based in London, she continues to work with international photographers, introducing them to the Japanese market and producing art event in both U.K and Japan.

Recently, Saera was awarded a Masters degree in Creative Writing ; The Novel in Brunel University (West London, UK) with Merit, She had the top English writers such as Fay Weldon and Matt Thorn as tutors. She gained A star for Originality and imagination for her dissertation novel which she continues to write in English as a second language.
